Pyromellitic dianhydride (abbreviated as PMDA), with its special molecular structure, can be used in the manufacture of heat-resistant, electrically insulating and chemical-resistant materials. It is mainly synthesized as dianhydride monomer with aromatic diamine to produce polyimide plastics. Due to its excellent ultra-high heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, excellent mechanical properties, electrical properties and dimensional stability, polyimide is widely used in high-tech fields such as aviation, aerospace, microelectronics and atomic energy, which have stringent requirements on material properties. However, the purity of pyromellitic dianhydride is very high and needs to be more than 99%.
Pyromellitic dianhydride is not only an important raw material for organic synthesis industry, but also a basic raw material for the development of new chemical materials and high value-added fine chemical products, but also used as a curing agent for epoxy resin and cross-linking agent for polyester resin, and used in the manufacture of phthalocyanine blue dyestuffs and some important derivatives, which have a wide range of uses.
