2,2'-Bis (trifluoromethyl) benzidine (TFMB) is an important polyimide monomer for the synthesis of polyimide. Polyimide synthesized with TFMB as the core polyimide monomer introduces fluorine groups into the molecular structure; thanks to fluorine’s small atomic radius and high electronegativity, the polyimide not only retains its inherent excellent overall performance but also gains many unique properties, such as enhanced chemical inertness, superior mechanical strength and low dielectric constant.
TFMB is mainly used in the field of microelectronics and optoelectronics for the preparation of pi advanced materials with very low dielectric constant, very low surface free energy, very high mechanical strength, very high abrasion resistance, colorless and transparent, and it is the most well-known monomer among all fluorine-containing PI diamine monomers.
